The dual-axis linear guide is mainly assembled from aluminum alloy guide rails, steel shafts, aluminum alloy sliders, rollers, eccentric wheels, and screws. Depending on the application, accessories such as locking handles, springs, oil seals, and rubber rings may also be added.

Because the balls of dual-axis linear guides are sealed inside U-shaped rollers and do not come into contact with the external environment, the structure is stable. The surface of the aluminum alloy has undergone electrophoretic treatment, making it hard, corrosion-resistant, and rust-resistant. Therefore, this part does not require much maintenance; you only need to wipe the dust off with a cotton cloth periodically.

The key points for maintenance of dual-axis linear guides are the rollers, steel shafts, and eccentric wheels, which are prone to corrosion.

1. Maintenance of U-groove rollers. The rollers are internally greased and sealed before leaving the factory, so no internal maintenance is required. Maintenance mainly focuses on the exterior. The rollers are made of bearing steel, and although the surface is treated with rust prevention, the rust-preventive layer will gradually disappear at the groove where it contacts the steel shaft due to long-term friction. Exposure to moisture in the air will then cause rust. Therefore, when the rollers are not used for an extended period, rust-preventive oil can be applied to prevent rust.

2. Maintenance of the steel shaft. Similar to the principle of U-groove rollers, when not in use for an extended period, apply rust-preventive oil to prevent rust.

3. Maintenance of the eccentric wheel. The function of the eccentric wheel is to adjust the preload between the roller and the guide rail steel shaft. Therefore, rust is prone to occur at the screw holes. Rust-preventive oil can be applied regularly to prevent rust.
