Installation Techniques for Cycloidal Pinwheel Reducers

The installation of the cycloidal wheel in a planetary cycloidal reducer is crucial.

First, check if the two cycloidal wheels are a pair. Cycloidal wheels are manufactured in pairs, meaning the two halves are not separated during production. During installation, a pair means the two cycloidal wheels can completely overlap, including the bearing holes, ten holes (pin holes), and external gear teeth. From the front, they appear as one piece. If they overlap, they are a pair; if they don't, they are not a pair and cannot be used. Note that cycloidal wheels have a reverse orientation. Cycloidal wheels are marked, and the markings differ for each pair. The location of these markings varies between manufacturers; domestic manufacturers generally mark the overlap position (the markings coincide), but some also mark the installation position. Regardless of the marking location, it's only an auxiliary means to help verify if they are a pair.

The second step is to rotate one of the cycloidal gears of the planetary cycloidal reducer 180 degrees, so that the central bearing hole and the ten-hole are completely aligned, and the external teeth are misaligned. The tooth root position of the upper gear is exactly the tooth tip position of the lower gear. Note that the relative positions of these two gears must be remembered. It's best to draw a mark yourself or remember the original marking positions on the gears. (This is for a single-tooth-difference cycloidal gear; for a double-tooth-difference gear, rotating 180 degrees is not necessary.)

The third step is to place a cycloidal wheel into the needle tooth housing and first rotate it by hand to see if it is smooth and oscillating.

The fourth step is to insert the eccentric bearing. Since the bearing hole of the cycloidal wheel is equivalent to the outer sleeve of the eccentric bearing, the correct position of the eccentric bearing is that the bearing hole of the lower cycloidal wheel completely contains the cylindrical balls of the eccentric bearing.

The fifth step is to insert the spacer ring.

The sixth step is to insert another planetary cycloidal reducer cycloidal wheel. The placement of this wheel is crucial; its position must be exactly as marked on your final drawing.

Step 7: Place the bushing and rotate it by hand to check if it can rotate, thus verifying that the installation is correct.
