The WorldSkills Competition (WSC) is the world's highest-level, largest-scale, and most influential vocational skills competition, often referred to as the "International Skills Olympics." Its competitive level represents the international advanced level of vocational skills development and serves as an important channel for members of the International Skills Organization (ISO) to showcase and exchange vocational skills. Organized by ISO, the WorldSkills Competition is held biennially and has been successfully held 44 times to date.
Can the new generation of skilled talents continue their glorious achievements in the 52-skill competition?
The 45th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Kazan, Russia, featuring 52 competition events. These include:

Among the 52 competition categories, many are closely related to the machine tool industry, such as carpentry, electrical equipment, fine carpentry, CNC milling, CNC turning, team building challenges, industrial machinery assembly and adjustment, industrial control, CAD mechanical design, mechatronics, mobile robotics, welding, jewelry processing, and architectural stone carving. Therefore, this competition showcased many outstanding young talents in the machine tool industry, significantly increasing the competition's popularity, as many companies sought to find highly skilled personnel through the competition.
Most of the contestants in this selection competition were only in their early twenties, but many of these young talents had already become highly skilled professionals thanks to their exceptional skills. On the first day of the competition, the event attracted 100,000 visitors, many of whom were employees or senior executives of various companies. At the Industrial Manufacturing competition, which won a gold medal at the previous WorldSkills Competition, many contestants were already receiving high-paying job offers from companies on-site while they were still competing, extending job opportunities to these young talents born in the 2000s.
In recent years, my country has placed increasing emphasis on skilled workers. Not only has the government introduced policies to encourage young people to pursue skilled jobs, but local governments and businesses have also offered attractive conditions, high salaries, and generous benefits to attract skilled talent. In Beijing, Shanghai, and other cities, policies have even been introduced stating that "competitors who win awards in international skills competitions, as well as experts and coaches who make outstanding contributions to their award-winning projects, can be directly granted residency permits as outstanding highly skilled or professionally skilled personnel." This is undoubtedly a huge incentive for many young skilled workers.
In recent years, the shortage of skilled workers in the traditional machine tool manufacturing sector has been quite severe. The International Skills Competition showcases the significant achievements of my country's skilled workforce development and vocational education, promotes the vital role of skilled workers in economic and social development, and fosters a strong social atmosphere that values and respects skills. This is crucial for the sustainable development of my country's machine tool industry. It is believed that this competition will fundamentally change the traditional perceptions of skilled workers among the younger generation, encouraging more young people to genuinely love and develop their skills.
