Whether miners can have access to timely hot water is a major concern for coal mines. In the past, miners had to wear heavy water bottles to meet their water needs underground. With the water dispenser powered off, unscrew the metal plug at the drain outlet to empty the water. Note: For bottled water dispensers, remove the water bottle.
Remove the left and right side panels of the water dispenser, use an 8mm Allen wrench to remove the bolts that secure the heater to the water tank, remove the heater, and use a steel wool pad to clean the scale in the heating chamber and on the heater.
Reassemble the heater into the water tank as it was during disassembly. Rinse the heating chamber with water. Tighten the metal plug on the drain outlet. Reinstall the right and rear side panels back into the water dispenser.
