The purchase of SOR pressure switch 1NN-K45-N4-F1A-XX371 is problematic because the capacitance and inductance (mutual inductance) between ultra-high voltage transmission lines are very large. After the faulty phase disconnects the short-circuit current, the power supply of the non-faulty phases (with the power supply neutral point grounded) will continue to supply arc current (i.e., residual current) to the fault point through these capacitances and inductances, making it difficult to extinguish the arc at the fault location. If a three-phase Y-connected reactor is connected in parallel on the line, and the neutral point of the Y-connection is grounded through a small reactor, the residual current at the single-phase grounding point can be limited and eliminated, extinguishing the arc and facilitating successful reclosing. In this case, the small reactor acts as an arc-suppression coil.

With the construction and commissioning of 500kV and 750kV transmission and transformation projects, shunt reactors have become increasingly irreplaceable. Insufficient capacity of shunt reactors directly becomes a key issue in power transmission. During the power outage of the 500kV Shali B line on September 27, 2002, the disconnection of shunt reactors caused the 500kV bus voltage at the Lishu substation to rise from 538kV to 555kV, severely exceeding the upper limit of the allowable bus voltage (550kV). Despite various adjustments to the operating mode, the dispatching department did not achieve satisfactory results. Furthermore, the delayed commissioning of the new shunt reactor project on the Lihe line prevented the two 300,000 kW units at the Shuangliao Power Plant from reaching full-load operation.
