Process Introduction

Inline wire drawing machines are common metal wire processing equipment, mainly used for drawing and processing materials such as steel wire, copper wire, alloy wire, and welding wire. They consist of three sections: unwinding, drawing, and take-up. Detailed descriptions are as follows: Unwinding Section: The material to be processed is fed into the drawing section. At this stage, the wire can withstand significant tension, so a passive unwinding method is used. This requires the motor to have high torque during startup and low-speed operation, and a stable operating speed . Drawing Section: Here, the wire is drawn stage by stage ( 13 stages in total), with each stage driven by a variable frequency motor driven by a frequency converter. In this process, the frequency converter must be reliable, ensuring high motor speed accuracy, fast dynamic response, and constant wire tension to prevent wire breakage and loosening, thus guaranteeing the quality of the finished product. Take-up Section: The processed wire is wound onto a reel. Whether accelerating during startup, decelerating during shutdown, or operating at a constant speed, the winding speed must be synchronized with the motor speed in the drawing section to ensure a stable winding effect.

System Configuration

The field equipment system uses CANopen bus communication for operation. Each set of equipment is equipped with 17 ENERGY EN700 series intelligent frequency converters. In the wire drawing section, each stage is driven by one frequency converter to drive one frequency conversion motor. Each frequency converter is equipped with an expansion card and connected to the motor encoder to form a closed-loop vector control.
