1. Motor parameters to be set
When the frequency converter operates in "vector control" (F0-03=1) mode, it is highly dependent on accurate motor parameters. This is one of the important differences from "VF control" (F0-03=2) mode. In order for the frequency converter to have good drive performance and operating efficiency, the frequency converter must obtain accurate parameters of the controlled motor.
The required motor parameters are (default motor 1 function code):
2. Automatic tuning and identification of motor parameters
Methods for frequency converters to obtain the internal electrical parameters of the controlled motor include: dynamic identification, static identification, and manual input of motor parameters.
The automatic tuning steps for motor parameters are as follows:
The following explanation uses the parameter identification method for the default motor 1 as an example; the identification method for motor 2 is the same. Step 1: If the motor can be completely disconnected from the load, mechanically disconnect the motor from the load while the power is off, allowing the motor to rotate freely under no-load. Step 2: After powering on, first select the operation panel command channel as the inverter command source (F0-04). Step 3: Accurately input the motor's nameplate parameters (e.g., F4-01~F4-06). Please input the following parameters according to the actual parameters of the motor (select according to the current motor):
Step 4: If it is an asynchronous motor, select 2 (Dynamic Full Tuning) from F4-00 (tuning selection; for motor 2, this corresponds to function code H1-00), and press ENTER to confirm. At this time, the keyboard will display:
Then press the RUN key on the keypad. The inverter will drive the motor to accelerate, decelerate, and rotate in both directions. The running indicator light will illuminate, and the operation will last for approximately 2 minutes. When the above display information disappears and returns to the normal parameter display state, the tuning is complete. After this complete tuning, the inverter will automatically calculate the following parameters of the motor:
If the motor cannot be completely disconnected from the load, select 1 (static tuning) for F4-00 (H1-00 for motor 2), and then press the RUN key on the keypad to start the motor parameter identification operation.
3. Setting and switching of multiple motor parameters
The currently valid motor parameter group can be specified via function code H0-00 or selected via digital input terminal function 41. However, when digital input terminal function 41 is valid, it takes priority, and the H0-00 setting is invalid in this case.
