Routine inspection methods for industrial computers

Industrial computers are electronic devices specifically designed to adapt to industrial environments, capable of withstanding long-term, high-intensity, and continuous workloads in factories. However, even the most reliable industrial computers can malfunction due to overload if they are not properly maintained during daily use. Therefore, users can refer to the following three methods for routine checks of their computers.

1. Observation and inspection method

The visual inspection method refers to a troubleshooting approach that involves observing the appearance of the industrial computer motherboard and the condition of its components. When troubleshooting an industrial motherboard, first observe whether the capacitors are bulging, leaking, or severely damaged. Next, check if the leads of the resistors and capacitors are touching, and whether the surface of the chips is cracked. Also check if the various plugs and sockets on the industrial computer motherboard are bent, and whether the chips are abnormally overheating.

2. Comparison method

The comparison method is another way to inspect and repair industrial computers. It requires preparing a motherboard of the same model as the faulty industrial computer beforehand. When users have questions about certain modules, they test the same test points on both motherboards, comparing the correct characteristics with the faulty motherboard to see which module's waveform or voltage is inconsistent. Then, they check each inconsistency point by point until the fault in the industrial computer is found and resolved.

3. Measurement method

There are two main measurement methods: resistance measurement and voltage measurement. Resistance measurement uses the measured resistance value to roughly determine the quality of the industrial computer motherboard chips and electronic components, and to identify serious short circuits and open circuits. Voltage measurement primarily involves measuring the voltage of the industrial computer motherboard and comparing it to the test points of a normal industrial motherboard. The test points with discrepancies are identified, and the faulty component is located and repaired by tracing the circuit lines at those test points.

Instead of worrying about which industrial computer is best, it's more useful to understand the three methods for troubleshooting computers. Even the best products will eventually malfunction, so knowing how to handle problems correctly is crucial. Furthermore, it's believed that industrial computers will become increasingly integrated into industrial production activities, gradually becoming a new trend driving social development as a novel industrial production method.
