What are the connection methods and power input characteristics of a three-phase isolation transformer?

The three-phase isolation transformer adopts a three-phase double-winding structure, featuring lightning protection and interference resistance. Each winding on the primary and secondary sides consists of two coils, made of two layers of mutually insulated metal foil. Therefore, there is a capacitance C between the two coils (capacitor isolation transformer). Then, the following two wiring methods can be combined arbitrarily as needed:

Isolation transformer

It has voltage conversion function (e.g., Δ/Yo or Yo/Δ (connection)).

It has filtering and anti-interference functions (e.g., it can eliminate third harmonic interference). It can also eliminate odd harmonic interference.

It can effectively reduce interference from harmonics and lightning electromagnetic pulses on power lines; it can effectively reduce the interference harmonics generated by electronic equipment in the system from entering the power distribution network and causing interference to other equipment (devices, systems);

This fundamentally prevents abnormal system operation, data loss, or errors caused by ground potential disturbances;

It can effectively prevent the potential of the steel reinforcement serving as the reference ground from rising sharply when the building's lightning protection device is grounded, thus preventing the hardware equipment in the system from being damaged by backflash.

Isolation transformer

AC power input isolation transformer characteristics:

a. When the third harmonic and interference signals are severe, an isolation transformer can be used to eliminate the third harmonic and interference signals.

b. Using an isolation transformer can generate a new neutral line, avoiding abnormal equipment operation caused by a poor neutral line in the power grid.

c. Current waveform distortions (such as third harmonics) caused by nonlinear loads can be isolated without polluting the power grid.

Characteristics of the AC power output isolation transformer:

d. To prevent current distortion from nonlinear loads from affecting the normal operation of AC power supply and causing pollution to the power grid, it plays a role in purifying the power grid.

e. By sampling the input terminal of the isolation transformer, the distortion of the nonlinear load current does not affect the sampling accuracy, thus obtaining a control signal that reflects the actual situation.

f. If the load is unbalanced, it will not affect the normal operation of the regulated power supply.
