To ensure the normal operation of a lithium-ion battery UPS, it is recommended to maintain the lithium-ion battery UPS power system in the following ways.

1. When using a lithium battery UPS, pay attention to various parameters such as input voltage range, output waveform, output power, long power supply time, switching time, lithium battery brand, machine noise, size, and weight. UPS systems should not be operated at full load; a power margin of at least 20% should be maintained, and the load should ideally be controlled between 40% and 60% of the UPS's rated output power.

2. When a lithium battery UPS is not used for an extended period, it should be turned on periodically. For standby UPS systems, it is recommended to run the UPS in inverter mode for at least 2-3 minutes every month to activate the battery and extend its lifespan. When charging, avoid overcurrent and overvoltage charging as much as possible. Proper discharging helps activate the battery.

3. Master the basic knowledge of lithium battery UPS, carefully read the equipment manual, understand the meaning of various warning messages, warning codes, and indicator lights, as well as the causes and solutions. Be familiar with the functions of various switches and buttons on the equipment. Be proficient in all UPS operations and understand the connection relationships.

4. Strengthen daily inspections and maintenance, check for alarms, odors, and abnormal noises in the equipment, check for loose or overheating joints, ensure the cooling fan is operating normally, and verify that all equipment indicators are functioning correctly. Address any problems promptly.

5. Maintain a suitable ambient temperature. Ambient temperature is a crucial factor affecting the lifespan of lithium battery UPS systems. Battery manufacturers generally recommend an optimal ambient temperature between 20-25℃. Once the ambient temperature exceeds 25℃, the battery life will be halved for every 10℃ increase.

6. Replace damaged/failed batteries promptly. During continuous operation of a lithium battery UPS, due to differences in performance and quality, it is inevitable that some batteries will experience performance degradation or fail to meet storage capacity requirements, leading to damage. When one or more batteries in the battery pack fail, maintenance personnel should inspect and test each battery to eliminate the damaged one.

7. The operating environment of a lithium battery UPS should be well-ventilated to facilitate heat dissipation and kept clean. Do not connect inductive loads such as banknote counters, fluorescent lights, or air conditioners, as this may damage the uninterruptible power supply.

8. Do not frequently turn the lithium battery UPS power supply on and off. Generally, you should wait 6 seconds after turning off the UPS power supply before turning it on again. Otherwise, the UPS power supply may be in a "start-up failure" state, that is, the UPS power supply is in a state with neither mains power output nor inverter output.

UPS power supplies have gradually become the guardians of important equipment. Due to the uncertainty of the state of UPS lithium-ion batteries, system failure and loss of important data can occur, with unimaginable consequences and huge losses. Therefore, it is very important to use, maintain and repair UPS power supply lithium-ion battery packs correctly.
