1. A wire that spontaneously combusts after the insulation is ignited and removed from the open flame is a sign of poor quality.
2. The core of the wire is usually made of aluminum and copper, which will darken in color and have a less lustrous sheen. This refers to the color of the core; inferior wires are dull in color and lack metallic luster.
3. Carefully measure the inner and outer diameters, and check the looseness of the insulation by weighing. Tianjin Cable Factory states that if the above six methods are still insufficient to determine the quality, the outer diameter and core diameter of the insulated wire can be measured. The allowable error is ±10%. If the measured values exceed the allowable error, it is basically a substandard insulated wire.
4. Carefully examine the printed label; be wary of blurry or unclear text. This refers to checking the printed text on the label and insulation sheath. Pay attention if there are typos, inconsistent printing depth, or blurry text.
5. Rub the insulation with your fingers; if it rubs off color or lettering, it indicates poor quality. This refers to rubbing the insulation with your fingers. Some inferior insulated wires are prone to rubbing off color, especially red wires. If the wire leaves color on your fingers after rubbing or the lettering on the insulation is rubbed off, it is generally a sign of poor quality.
6. If you scratch or pinch the wire with your fingernail, and a piece of the insulation comes off easily, it's generally a low-quality wire.
7. The insulated wire breaks after being repeatedly bent three to four times. This refers to the repeated bending of the insulated wire. Inferior wires generally have very poor insulation material, and their insulation layer will break after being bent 3 to 4 times.
