I. Background of the Fabric Laying Machine Industry

The fabric spreading machine is a crucial part of the textile process. It is responsible for aligning and laying layers of rolled fabric onto the cutting table for the next cutting process. Manual fabric spreading machines are simple in structure, with workers pushing and pulling the machine back and forth to spread the fabric; while automatic fabric spreading machines are computer-controlled, automatically performing tasks such as spreading the fabric, cutting the material, and recording the number of layers.

Specifically, its working principle is as follows:

Fabric pressing device: Prevents wrinkles from forming when laying the fabric;

Edge alignment device: Automatically aligns edges during fabric laying;

Cutting device: The cutter and main unit are detachable, and the cutting distance and speed can be set according to the width of the fabric;

Lifting device: The lifting amount can be set according to the fabric thickness;

Fabric release photoelectric sensor: During the fabric laying process, the release speed is controlled based on the photoelectric sensor signal to maintain constant fabric tension;

With fabric photoelectric sensor: When the fabric is laid out, the main control unit stops operating and returns to the fixed point;

Emergency stop device: Steel cables are installed on both sides for emergency stopping, which can be pulled at any time.

Recently, with rising labor costs for businesses and increasing demands for clothing comfort from consumers, fabric spreading machines have become a viable alternative to manual fabric spreading, demonstrating significant market potential.

II. Invt Solution

It was against this backdrop that a textile company in Zhejiang Province approached our company with a request to modify its fabric spreading machine in order to achieve higher production efficiency and better quality.

Therefore, INVT provided them with a complete solution including VA2070 touch screen + IVC1L PLC + DA200 servo + GD20 frequency converter.

The PLC and the screen communicate via RS232. The VC1L has two 100K pulse channels: one pulse controls the position of the travel servo (DA200), and the other pulse controls the frequency of the cutter/fabric feed inverter (GD20). The IVC1L communicates with the fabric feed servo (DA200) via the 485 port MODBUS protocol, changing the electronic gear ratio of the fabric feed servo to change the tension of the fabric.

III. Advantages of INVT's Solution

1. This solution has a unique algorithm for walking servo motion, which reduces acceleration time and increases the laying speed from the original 90+m/min to 110+m/min, an improvement of more than 20%.

2. When used in conjunction with IoT products, the system can monitor key parameters such as work time and efficiency online via mobile phone, enabling intelligent management and remote updates to equipment programs, facilitating equipment maintenance for customers.

3. Automatic tension adjustment function, which can automatically adjust the tension during operation through tension feedback to make the fabric reach the appropriate tightness.

4. The solution configuration is flexible and versatile. The DA180 series servo drive can be selected to enhance the overall cost-effectiveness of the solution, or the DA260 series servo drive can be selected to be equipped with dynamic braking function to enhance equipment performance.
