From raw stone to finished product, the process generally involves material selection, cutting, design, rough carving, fine carving, and polishing. Cutting is one of the initial processing steps for raw stones. Single-wire cutting equipment is mainly used for squaring hard and brittle materials such as jade, emerald, and magnetic materials. It uses a diamond wire containing diamond particles to reciprocate at high speed, thereby cutting the material in the processing area, turning large pieces into smaller ones to facilitate subsequent processing and production.

Sine Electric's jade single-wire cutting equipment solution uses the Sine Electric EA300E series EtherCAT control scheme, which consists of a motion controller, servo system, encoder, etc. It can accurately control the high-speed operation of the cutting equipment, making the cutting surface flat and smooth while effectively shortening the cutting time, meeting the requirements of high speed, high precision and high efficiency.
Scheme Composition
Controller: Including HMI and motion control system, it is the core of the entire system, mainly responsible for data calculation and processing, display of various statuses, and parameter setting;
Servo system: A crucial component of the entire solution. It is responsible for executing electronic gear commands, completing corresponding actions quickly and accurately, and requires high responsiveness and stability.
Encoder: Periodic calculation of the diameter of the take-up and take-down rollers.
Software Interface
The efficient algorithm, combined with the cutting scene and cutting process, automatically and accurately calculates the running trajectory at each position, achieving fine process control.
Main processes
1. Servo-controlled wire feeding is used, and the wire feeding command speed is derived based on the automatically calculated wire roll diameter and the set cutting speed;
2. Two lifting servos are coupled to a virtual axis via gears. The virtual axis then moves downward by a feed rate, and the up-and-down swing function is achieved by superimposing commands.
3. The rocker arm shaft applies a constant tension to the cable through torque control;
4. Servo winding is used, and the winding command speed is obtained based on the automatically calculated winding diameter and PID.
