Correct usage method for lithium-ion batteries for the first time
For the first charge of a new lithium-ion battery in your phone, there's no special method needed. You can decide based on the actual battery level. If the battery is less than 20% when you turn on the phone, it's recommended to charge it first. If the battery is greater than 20%, you can charge it directly or wait until the battery level drops to 20% before charging. Once fully charged, unplug the charger.
Lithium-ion batteries do not have the memory effect of nickel-cadmium batteries and are already activated at the factory, so they can be charged whenever needed for daily use. However, to maximize battery life and extend battery life, the following points should be noted when charging:
● Try to ensure that your mobile device is running the latest version of the operating system, as newer systems usually include more advanced energy-saving technologies.
● Avoid charging in environments with temperatures exceeding 35°C, as this may permanently damage the lithium-ion battery's capacity. Storing batteries in high-temperature environments may also cause irreversible damage.
● It is best to remove the phone case when charging to prevent the phone from getting too hot due to the case blocking the charging process.
● When not using your phone for an extended period, do not fully charge or fully discharge it. Keep the battery level at around 50%, turn off the power switch, and store it in a cool, dry place.
Lithium-ion batteries are consumables with a limited lifespan. Therefore, mastering the correct usage of lithium-ion batteries is the secret to extending their lifespan.
