Mobile phone lithium battery usage and maintenance principles

1. Lithium-ion batteries should not be completely discharged or frequently recharged. However, the damage caused by repeated and arbitrary charging to lithium-ion batteries is very small and can be almost ignored.

2. Store lithium-ion batteries in a cool, dark place. Do not put them in the refrigerator. Avoid placing them in a hot car. If storing for an extended period, charge the batteries to 40% before storing.

3. If you are using a fixed power source most of the time, please remove the batteries and store them in a cool place.

4. There is no need to buy spare lithium-ion batteries for storage; doing so is actually a waste of the battery.

Batteries are meant to be used. As long as you pay attention to proper use and storage, there is no need to over-protect them. The most important thing is to let them contribute to our lives as much as possible.

Mobile phone battery capacity is always a major concern. Many phones, even when perfectly functional, experience battery degradation or fail to charge after only a short time. Therefore, battery capacity is now a crucial indicator for consumers when choosing a phone. While mobile phone batteries have evolved from nickel-cadmium batteries to lithium-ion batteries, public understanding of lithium-ion batteries is inconsistent, and many misconceptions exist regarding their use.

1. Lithium-ion batteries have a limited lifespan.

We all know that lithium-ion batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, but like everything else, they also have a lifespan. So next time you buy a battery, remember to check the manufacturing date. The newer the better, of course. Because your lithium-ion battery begins its "death" the moment it leaves the factory. The lifespan of a lithium-ion battery depends on many factors. In the best-case scenario, your lithium-ion battery might lose 20% of its maximum charge capacity over a year, starting from its manufacturing date.

2. Do not let your equipment run out of power completely.

You might have wondered why your phone, PDA, or iPod lights up its LCD screen and cheerfully tells you "Your battery is low" before automatically shutting down when the battery is low. The reason is simple: there's an internal circuit in the phone that automatically shuts it down when the battery is too low. This circuit is designed to protect the phone. You can think of it this way: if your lithium-ion battery is too low, it could be permanently damaged. So, try to plug it in and charge it whenever it's convenient.

Remember that a "one" charging cycle means that if you use 50% of the battery on the first day, charge it at night, and then use another 50% on the second day, that is one cycle.

Repeatedly charging a lithium-ion battery without interruption will not reduce its lifespan.

3. Lithium-ion batteries will not be overcharged. They have internal circuit protection. The biggest problem with lithium-ion batteries is overheating. Temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius will reduce the amount of charge a lithium-ion battery can hold.

Regarding the maintenance of mobile phone lithium-ion batteries, just pay attention to them regularly and don't be too strict with yourself. After all, especially with mobile phones, the lifespan of a phone is getting shorter and shorter these days. Many people frequently change their phones every year or even every six months to keep up with the trends. In this situation, lithium-ion batteries are more than capable of handling all that wear and tear, so use them with peace of mind. After all, it's a consumer product, and comfort is the key.
