Abstract : This paper introduces the constant tension control principle of the spool take-up in a welding wire copper plating production line. The law that the torque of the take-up motor increases proportionally with the increase of the coil diameter is derived. An Emerson frequency converter with torque control function is used to drive the spool take-up, simplifying the tension control system and improving the efficiency of subsequent operations. The parameter setting and debugging process are also explained.
