Abstract : This paper introduces some electrical design ideas and methods for the application of Oi-C in double-end surface grinders. Keywords : Oi-C, PLC, frequency converter, jogging CNC system 1 Introduction to MBL45K Double-End Surface Grinding Machine The MBL45K double-end surface grinder is designed for bearings, auto parts, electronics manufacturing, and other industries where the two end faces require parallelism. It is a double-end surface grinder that uses one-time grinding to form the shape. The machine tool has a vertical layout, with the upper and lower grinding heads vertically mounted on the same axis. The horizontal and vertical adjustment of the upper grinding head is achieved using three-point positioning. The grinding wheel spindle adopts high-power AC frequency conversion speed regulation (suitable for CBN grinding wheels and diamond grinding wheels). The feed mechanism of the upper and lower grinding heads adopts a servo control system. The minimum grinding wheel feed is 0.002 mm, thus ensuring the quality of the workpiece. The swing arm adopts servo control, which can achieve different grinding positioning and different feeding speeds for different grinding workpieces. The transmission mechanism in the swing arm can force the workpiece to rotate during grinding, and the speed is adjustable to ensure the workpiece accuracy. For workpieces with large grinding allowances, a multi-stage, simultaneous grinding and feeding approach can be used. 2. Introduction to the 0i-C System This machine tool uses the FANUC 0i-C CNC system, an economical CNC system. It can drive up to 4 axes simultaneously, with a resolution of 0.001mm or 0.0001", suitable for general machinery, small machinery, and economical machinery. It uses FSSB fiber optic connection for CNC and servo communication, and I/O LINK for communication between the CNC and I/O modules. Its outstanding feature is the integration of the CNC and LCD display, greatly reducing the size of the CNC system.
