Abstract : This paper explains the necessity of using frequency converters for variable frequency speed control in roving frames in textile production. It details the control methods and practical technological requirements of using frequency converters, and gives some issues that need attention in the rational use and maintenance of frequency converters in the automatic control system of roving frames. It also provides a relatively specific analysis of the application of MEIDAN frequency converters in the electrical control system of roving frames. Keywords : MEIDAN frequency converter, roving frame control system 1 Introduction The roving frame is an indispensable process in the spinning system. Significant progress has been made in the technological advancements of roving frames, particularly in terms of spinning performance, both domestically and internationally. Especially in the late 20th century, the application of computer technology, sensor technology, and especially variable frequency speed control (VFD) technology in roving frames, along with continuous improvements in spinning techniques such as drafting, pressurization, and winding, has led to the development of modern roving frames characterized by high speed, high quality, high output, and high efficiency. With the continuous innovation of new VFDs and the rapid advancements in VFD technology, favorable conditions have been provided for meeting the load characteristics and process requirements of roving frames. The ideal control functions of VFDs, combined with computer support, have simplified the mechanical structure of roving frames, enabling multi-motor control and paving the way for high-speed and mechatronic roving frames.
