Abstract: This article introduces the application of high-voltage variable frequency technology in power plant fans, and achieves energy saving through the variable frequency speed regulation retrofit of the fans.

1 Introduction
In its energy conservation plans for the 10th and 11th Five-Year Plans, the Chinese government prioritized "energy conservation in motor systems," emphasizing the development of motor speed regulation and power electronics technologies to "gradually achieve economical operation of motors, fans, pumps, and other equipment and systems." Furthermore, the State Planning Commission, in its 15th Five-Year Plan outline, explicitly proposed "changing the industrial growth model," "encouraging the adoption of high and advanced applicable technologies to transform traditional industries," and pointed out that a nation's comprehensive strength is fundamentally based on its equipment manufacturing industry. It proposed the important guiding principle of "vigorously revitalizing the equipment manufacturing industry" and "vigorously promoting mechatronics" to create new economic growth points.
It was learned from the China Power Forum hosted by the China Electricity Council this year that my country's current installed power capacity has reached 440 million kW, of which 325 million kW is thermal power, accounting for 82.6% of total power generation. Moreover, this excessive reliance on thermal power may worsen in the future. Among the various auxiliary equipment in thermal power plants, pumps and turbines constitute the vast majority, representing a significant potential for energy conservation.
