Abstract: The ACS6000 frequency converter is a medium-voltage frequency converter launched by ABB in recent years for large-scale drive systems. This type of frequency converter uses both DTC and PWM technologies, offering advantages such as fast torque response, good dynamic characteristics, and stable performance. This article briefly introduces the application of the ACS6000 frequency converter in coal mine hoisting equipment, its hardware configuration, drive concept, control logic, and issues to be aware of during use. The ACS frequency converter, with its stable performance and flexible module selection function, has been widely used in mining, shipbuilding, metallurgy, chemical and other industries, achieving good results. The drive unit for the auxiliary vertical shaft hoisting equipment at Tunliu Coal Mine utilizes ABB's cutting-edge ACS6000 medium-voltage frequency converter. This converter features fully digital AC-DC-AC frequency conversion control, employing DTC (Direct Torque Control) and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology to control the rectifier and inverter units in the main circuit, generating three-level voltages of different frequencies through the IGCTs (interferometer gate commcatated thyristors). The converter boasts excellent dynamic characteristics, a high power factor, and fast torque response. Furthermore, the CDP312 control panel, mounted on the control module unit panel, offers a powerful user interface, facilitating dynamic monitoring, parameter modification, maintenance instructions, and fault diagnosis of the entire frequency converter. 1. Equipment Description The hoisting equipment in the Tunliu auxiliary vertical shaft is a D4m, 4-rope ground-based friction hoist manufactured by ABB. The maximum hoisting speed is 8.8 m/s, the maximum static tension is 876 kN, and the maximum static tension difference is 141 kN. The motor is an AC synchronous motor with a power of 1540 kW. The main technical specifications of the frequency converter used in the drive system are shown in Table 1.
