Abstract : Based on the basic idea of data sampling, an involute interpolation algorithm is proposed. The basic principle and implementation method of this method are introduced, and the contour error of interpolation is analyzed. This method has the characteristics of high interpolation accuracy and fast interpolation speed, which can meet the requirements of CNC system and improve the programming and machining efficiency of involute contour parts. Keywords : CNC system; interpolation; data sampling; involute CNC machine tool In actual machining, in order to meet the requirements of geometric dimensional accuracy, the motion trajectory of the axis should move accurately according to the contour shape of the workpiece. Whether it is a single-axis system or a multi-axis system, the axis is required to move in coordination along a precisely defined path to complete the machining task controlled by the computer program. Therefore, the generation of CNC instructions and the interpolation control function are important components of the CNC system, and its performance directly represents the intelligence level of the CNC system. At present, CNC systems generally only have a few interpolation functions such as linear, circular, and parabolic curves. The contour machining of complex curves must be carried out offline by external programming through linear or circular arc fitting. This not only makes the machining program compilation more complicated, but also prolongs the machining cycle. With the development of computer and servo technologies, closed-loop CNC systems using 32-bit microprocessors as the control host and AC servo motors as the drive components have become the mainstream of CNC systems. Due to the high processing speed and strong computing power of 32-bit machines, real-time interpolation of complex curves becomes possible, and this also provides favorable conditions for expanding the interpolation function of CNC systems. Based on the principle of data sampling, this paper proposes a real-time interpolation algorithm for involute curves. This algorithm features high interpolation accuracy and fast interpolation speed, meeting the real-time requirements of CNC system interpolation. The involute curve is one of the common machining curves, and this algorithm can improve the programming and machining efficiency of involute contour parts, possessing practical value.
