[b]1 Concept and Advantages of High-Speed ​​Cutting 1.1 Concept[/b] The concept of high-speed cutting originated from the famous cutting experiment and physical extension of the German cutting physicist Cad Salomn. He believed that a certain working material corresponds to a critical cutting speed, at which the cutting temperature is the highest. In the conventional cutting range (see area A in Figure 1), the cutting temperature increases with the increase of cutting speed. When the cutting speed reaches the critical cutting speed, the cutting temperature decreases instead of increasing the cutting speed further (see Figure 1). His theory offers a crucial insight: if cutting can bypass zone B in Figure 1 and proceed in the high-speed zone (zone c in Figure 1), it becomes possible to perform high-speed cutting using existing tools, thereby significantly reducing cutting time and multiplying machine tool productivity.
