Abstract : This paper introduces the structural principle, control scheme, and application effect of a speed-controlled switched reluctance linear motor in a straight-blade cutting machine. Keywords : switched reluctance linear motor; structural principle; control scheme; application 1 Introduction At the request of the manufacturer, a speed-controlled switched reluctance linear motor was developed. Straight-blade cutting machines are in high demand in garment machinery. Their structure consists of a rotary motor driving a blade in linear reciprocating motion via a crankshaft connecting rod mechanism. This structure has drawbacks such as high precision machining of parts and high vibration and noise from the eccentric mechanism. Therefore, developing a linear motor suitable for this type of machinery has great market potential. 2 Design Principle and Scheme The stator and vibrator of this motor are made of silicon steel sheets (this is the manufacturer's wish). Its composition principle is shown in Figure 1. C1 and C2 are magnetic yokes made of stacked silicon steel sheets. Excitation coils L1 and L2 are wound on them.
