Prepreg production line control system and its integration with ERP

Abstract : A PLC is used to control the multi-roller speed, drying tower temperature, and winding correction of a prepreg production line. A frequency converter is used to adjust the motor speed. Field data is collected via serial communication and centrally monitored by the industrial control computer in the control room. ODBC and multi-threading technologies are used to achieve data exchange and integration between the control system and the ERP system, expanding the ERP's field production management functions. Keywords : Prepreg; Control system; ERP; Multi-threading With the continuous improvement of process requirements, the use of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to form process control systems has become a major trend in factory automation. The operation process of a prepreg production line in a fishing tackle factory is as follows: After the fiberglass cloth is soaked in phenolic resin, it is extruded and stretched through a multi-roller connected production line. After being dried in sections through a drying tower, phenolic prepreg is formed. Finally, the dried prepreg is wound into a roll by a winding device. This production line is a typical multi-roller speed control system, containing over a dozen steel rollers of varying sizes (driven by motors). To maintain product quality and production continuity, the fabric tension within the production line must be kept constant. Therefore, it is crucial to control the fabric's forward speed consistently. Precise control of the four main steel rollers driving the production line (unwinding roller, constant-speed roller, auxiliary roller one, and auxiliary roller two) is particularly critical. The drying tower is a vertical three-section structure, using steam at different temperatures (100-200℃) to directly cure the prepreg fabric. Temperature fluctuations must be controlled within ±2℃ of the set temperature. During the prepreg fabric transmission process, misalignment may occur. A photoelectric switch detects the fabric deviation before the winding device, controlling the solenoid valve of the winding device to correct the deviation. To achieve control of this production line, a PLC is used as the controller, and an industrial control computer as the monitoring level, forming a two-level monitoring system. The existing ERP system and local area network are fully utilized, connecting the control system to the ERP system for data sharing. 1.
