Research on Grid-Connected Control of Synchronous Direct-Drive Wind Turbine Based on SIMULINK

Abstract: This paper briefly introduces the grid connection control requirements and grid connection control principle of synchronous direct-drive wind turbines in wind power generation. It also discusses and analyzes the grid connection control method for synchronous direct-drive wind turbines. Based on the analysis results, a model is built and experiments are conducted in SIMULINK software. The output voltage control is implemented using SVPWM . Simulation results show that this control method can meet the operational requirements of wind turbines. Keywords : synchronous generator; grid connection; wind power; SIMULINK 0 Introduction As an important means of developing and utilizing green energy, wind power generation technology has gradually become a focus of attention. With the attention of governments worldwide, wind power technology has developed rapidly in recent years, with system capacity continuously increasing from the initial tens of kilowatts to the megawatt level. As the capacity of wind power equipment continues to increase, the impact of the power generation system on the grid during grid connection cannot be ignored. Because the electrical output of wind power varies with wind speed, it can easily cause harmonic pollution, voltage fluctuations, and flicker in the grid during operation. To avoid these adverse effects, research is needed on grid connection control strategies for wind power systems. Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) waves generate fewer harmonics when controlling inverter output compared to the traditional PWM method often used for grid connection of wind turbines. Therefore, this paper studies the application of SVPWM control in wind power grid connection modules to regulate inverter output instead of PWM. SVPWM control signals are generated by using a 3-2-3 transformation within the same coordinate system during the space vector transformation of the grid voltage. The grid connection control model of the wind turbine is synchronized on the SIMULINK platform, and the effectiveness of this control method is simulated and analyzed.
