Abstract: Process control is an important professional direction in automation, with strong practical application. For multivariable coupled systems in industrial process control, we developed a decoupling control system experimental device. This paper briefly describes the self-developed experimental device for a computer-based decoupling control system of an electric heating furnace temperature, including hardware configuration, experimental software platform, and decoupling control algorithm. Through this device, students can conduct experiments such as multi-input multi-output system modeling, step response curves, digital PID control, decoupling control, and simulation of various control algorithms. It can also be used to simulate industrial production processes for control algorithm simulation experiments. Keywords: Decoupling control; Multivariable system; Computer control 1 Introduction Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems have complex internal structures and often exhibit a certain degree of coupling. A change in one input signal may cause changes in multiple outputs, and each output is not only affected by one input signal. For such coupled systems, industrial process control requires the system to operate safely and stably, have good regulation performance, track changes in the setpoint with small errors, and achieve zero steady-state error. Decoupling control has always been a challenge in process control. To achieve high-quality control performance, decoupling design is essential, resulting in a decoupled control system. To enable automation students to gain a vivid and in-depth understanding of multivariable decoupled control systems through experiments, we designed an experimental setup for a temperature decoupled control system of an electric heating furnace. This facilitates the learning and development of commonly used decoupling control algorithms in industrial production. For details, please click: Computer Decoupling Control System Experimental Setup
