Abstract : This paper introduces the modification methods of the motor and inverter interface of the MRGSF31/16 warp knitting machine, and the setting of the main parameters of the inverter after commissioning and operation. It elaborates on its advantages of energy saving, improved product output and quality, reduced maintenance costs, low investment, and fast return on investment. Keywords : Inverter; Variable frequency speed control; Motor; Warp knitting machine. AC variable frequency technology has received much attention due to its significant energy-saving effect, excellent operating performance, and many advantages beneficial to production. The application of variable frequency technology in the warp knitting industry can improve product competitiveness and increase the economic benefits of enterprises. 1. Selection of Inverter Taking the MRGSF31/16 warp knitting machine as an example, based on the electrical control principle of the warp knitting machine and the motor speed control principle, after comprehensive comparison, the Mitsubishi FR-A540-5.5K inverter was selected, with Pe=5.5kW, Ue=400V, and le=12A. 2 Modification 2.1 Motor Section The MRGSF31/16 warp knitting machine uses a resistance box combined with a wound-rotor motor to regulate the machine speed (see Figure 1), which wastes energy and affects knitting. The original motor was modified by removing the resistance box, eliminating the motor's slip rings and carbon brushes, and short-circuiting the three-phase leads of the rotor windings. This transformed it into a squirrel-cage variable frequency speed-regulating asynchronous motor.
