Abstract : This paper introduces the application of ABB frequency converters in false-twist texturing machines, and analyzes the working principle and unique functions of ABB frequency converters. Keywords : False-twist texturing machine, frequency converter 1 Overview ABB frequency converters adopt DTC (Direct Torque Control) technology in control. Compared with standard v/F control devices, the ACS800 can still accurately control the speed and torque of squirrel-cage motors without pulse encoder feedback. False-twist texturing machines use multiple frequency converters to drive independent drives of each shaft. It is necessary to ensure constant yarn tension during operation, stable speed of each motor driven by the frequency converter, and disturbance during winding to prevent yarn overlap and ensure good unwinding; and to ensure the use of parallel motors. 2 System Composition The system consists of 6 frequency converters, as shown in Figure 1. Motors M1, M2, M3, and M4 maintain yarn tension; motor M5 provides disturbance to prevent yarn overlap; and motor M6 is used in parallel. 2.1 Start/Stop During operation, we designed digital input terminal 1 as the start/stop signal, with a configuration parameter of 10.01. Digital input terminal 4 determines the acceleration and deceleration slopes, with a configuration parameter of 22.01. Digital input terminals 5 and 6 are configured with three constant speeds, with a configuration parameter of 12.01. Through these settings, we have completed the start/stop functionality.
