Abstract: Dynamic balancing testing technology emerged with the manufacturing and use of rotating machinery. The development of computers has made the application of virtual instruments possible. This paper uses a virtual instrument, where software replaces hardware, to measure dynamic balance quantities, improving testing accuracy while reducing costs. Keywords: rotating machinery; dynamic balance; virtual testing system 0.Introduction Dynamic balancing testing technology emerged with the manufacturing and use of rotating machinery. It is an important branch of rotating machinery fault detection and diagnosis technology, widely used for correcting rotor imbalance in rotating machinery, and has become an important discipline in rotor dynamics. Statistics show that approximately 30% of all rotating machinery failures are caused by rotor imbalance, making it one of the most frequent faults in rotating machinery. The dynamic load caused by an unbalanced rotor on the supports will induce vibration throughout the rotating machinery, generating noise, accelerating bearing wear, causing high-frequency fatigue failure of the rotor and forced vibration damage to support components, reducing the lifespan of the rotating machinery, and even causing complete machine control failure and serious accidents. Therefore, dynamic balancing of the rotor in a rotating machinery system can greatly improve system safety. Although dynamic balancing machines have existed for over 100 years, they still suffer from low balancing accuracy, which inadvertently prolongs the dynamic balancing test cycle, increases testing costs, and affects production efficiency. The development of computers has provided hardware support for virtual instruments, and the impact of virtual technology has brought about tremendous changes in measuring instruments and testing technologies. The combination of modern testing technology, computer technology, electronic technology, virtual instrument technology, and dynamic balancing technology to develop a computer-based virtual dynamic balancing testing system has become the future direction. This paper uses LabVIEW software to design a testing system to complete the measurement and calculation of dynamic balance, improving testing accuracy while reducing production costs.
