Abstract : Fans are widely used in industrial and mining enterprises. Practice has proven that replacing damper and baffle control with frequency converter-driven fan equipment can save over 40% of energy, and is also convenient to operate, maintenance-free, and offers high control precision. Therefore, frequency conversion speed regulation technology for fans has been listed as a key technology for national promotion. Traditional fan control operates at full speed, providing a fixed air volume regardless of the production process requirements. However, production processes often require control and adjustment of furnace pressure, wind speed, air volume, and temperature. The most common method is to adjust the opening of dampers or baffles to adjust the controlled object, resulting in energy loss through the throttling of dampers and baffles. Statistical data shows that in industrial production, the throttling losses of fan dampers, baffles, and related equipment, as well as maintenance and repair costs, account for 7% to 25% of production costs. This not only results in significant energy waste and equipment wear, but also limits control precision, directly impacting product quality and production efficiency. Variable frequency speed control (VFD), a new technology developed in the early 1980s, offers advantages such as ease of operation, maintenance-free operation, and high control precision. With VFD technology, ordinary electric motors can have their speed adjusted according to production process requirements without any modifications to the driven load. Therefore, wind turbine equipment can completely replace damper and baffle control schemes with VFD-driven solutions, thereby reducing motor power consumption and achieving efficient system operation.
