Abstract: Based on the analysis of the existing equipment control in the laboratory, WinCC industrial software was selected to realize the process monitoring of Siemens PLC and AB PLC. This paper focuses on how to use the Opc method to realize the communication between WinCC and AB PLC, and how to use configuration software combined with the Opc method to uniformly monitor and manage the laboratory equipment. Keywords: PLC ; WinCC; FMS; OPC; Serial communication To meet the teaching requirements of our college, the laboratory recently imported a Festo FMS logistics system from Germany. The laboratory previously had an Amatrol Cims training system, with its conveyor belt controlled by an AB PLC and the robotic arms controlled by an industrial PC. The entire system was managed by Cimsoft software for production scheduling and job planning. The newly introduced Festo logistics system mainly consists of a feeding unit, an inspection unit, a conveyor unit, a processing unit, an operator unit, and a finished product packaging unit. Each unit can work independently and their combination order can be arbitrarily changed. The feeding unit, inspection unit, processing unit, operator unit, and finished product packaging unit are controlled by Siemens S7-300 series PLCs, while the conveyor belt unit is controlled by Logo. Each PLC module provides an MPI port and can communicate using a Profibus bus. Because both systems have their own independent controllers and PCs, they must be controlled separately during operation. How to monitor the storage, retrieval, conveying, rough processing, and warehousing of materials from the Fseto equipment through a computer, and how to ensure that the semi-finished products after warehousing are directly conveyed by the conveyor belt to the Cims teaching system equipment conveyor belt [1], and then sent to the machine tool by the robot arm, processed, taken out, and sent back to the warehouse, so that the two different systems can work together, is a major problem we face. The solution proposed in this paper is mainly based on WinCC configuration software using the Opc method to control the two systems.
