Abstract : This paper analyzes the causes of synchronization errors in the motion of linked axes in CNC systems due to inconsistencies in phase and frequency during control operations. It proposes strategies and methods to solve the synchronization problem between modules using software programming and hardware-based measures. The basic principles of anti-interference design for hard synchronization signals are summarized, and an example of an effective hardware synchronization encoding and decoding circuit is given. Keywords : CNC system; position control; synchronization In the position control of CNC systems, multi-axis synchronization control directly affects the accuracy of multi-axis linkage. While intra-module axis synchronization control is relatively easy to implement, inter-module synchronization presents certain difficulties. To solve the problem of inter-module synchronization, two strategies—software synchronization and hardware synchronization—can be adopted to improve the accuracy of linked axis motion. 1 Error Analysis of Multi-Axis Synchronization in CNC Systems Multi-axis synchronization in CNC systems should consider two aspects: first, whether the position increment command outputs of each axis are synchronized; and second, whether the control operations of the motor control units of each axis are synchronized. Taking the implementation of a planar straight line with synchronized x and y axis positioning as an example (as shown in Figure 1), within a time interval ΔT starting from time T0, the x-axis rotates forward by ΔPx1 (internal pulse equivalent), while the y-axis moves forward simultaneously.
