The DC resistance test of transformer windings is an essential test item after transformer handover, major overhaul, and tap changer replacement. By measuring the DC resistance of the transformer windings, the quality of lead welding or connection can be checked, whether there are inter-turn short circuits or open circuits in the windings, and whether the tap changer contacts are good.
