Weidmüller and TeleHaase agreed to use 7.62mm pitch PCB terminals LSF-SMT (for lead-free reflow soldering processes) as the ideal solution for signal connections. The maintenance-free through-hole connection technology ensures vibration-resistant connections, allowing relays to operate instantly under various conditions.
TeleHaase relays meet these requirements with their miniaturized design, comprehensive features, and impressive user interface, aided by PCB terminal block LSF-SMT—thanks to through-hole connection technology and wide application.
“We wanted to inspire our customers with extremely small device sizes, saving them space. At the same time, we maintained the original functionality,” summarized Heinrich Reinolt, Development Manager at TeleHaase, outlining the Austrian relay manufacturer’s goals. “To meet this need, we needed suppliers who shared our vision to solve this problem. We found such a partner in Weidmüller’s device connection division.”
Unrestricted custom connectivity system
Across various industries, TeleHaase relays monitor and control most of the diverse processes. Like the new TeleVEO series, which includes time and monitoring relays, this relay "expert" has worked with Weidmüller throughout the entire device design process. Initially, the primary focus is on knowing and understanding all existing requirements.
The compact design of TeleHaase's time and monitoring relays is a primary and obvious advantage, and the series of relays truly demonstrates many of the strengths of Weidmüller as a product development partner.
“In addition to high miniaturization, customers also expect our PCB terminals to provide functional reliability for a wide range of target applications. These applications range from power generation and distribution, to transportation engineering, mechanical construction, and process applications, where relays can be flexibly integrated into relevant automation technologies,” explained Gottfried Steinklammer of Weidmüller, who accompanied TeleHaase throughout the design process.
"A connectivity system that precisely meets most of the diverse needs is a key step toward unrestricted functionality. To ensure global application, there is also a high requirement: the device needs to be UL840 600V certified. With so many needs in mind, we frequently exchange ideas with TeleHaase to seek solutions."
The device design considers various undecided options.

This advantage is particularly evident when relays are placed in climate chambers to monitor pharmaceuticals transported via the cold chain.

TeleHaase also benefits from its comprehensive and impressively user-friendly approach to customer service. Because TeleVEO relays use a tool-free plug-in connection technology for installation, end customers save valuable time during assembly, and the work can even be delegated to robots. Furthermore, a wide range of connectable wires is available, suitable for single-strand wires from 0.25 to 1.5 mm², ultrasonically crimped wires, and flexible wires with or without ends.
An important aspect of TeleHaase relays is their 600V certification according to UL840, which Weidmüller supports through additional testing.
To ensure UL840 compliance, Weidmüller provides support to TeleHaase as part of its comprehensive service. Through professionally managed testing programs offered by third-party accredited laboratories, Weidmüller provides the relay manufacturer with reliable connection components, enabling TeleHaase to obtain UL600V compliant device certification.
"Thanks to the open device connectivity options provided by Weidmüller, we were able to fully focus on realizing our vision of a relay housing that is only 22.5mm wide and 76mm deep," Reinolt said with delight. "Finally, the practical device connectivity system allowed us to unleash our creativity and develop innovative relay solutions with numerous functions and applications."
