I. Project Background

Daqing Oilfield Property Management Company No. 2 currently manages 39 heat exchange stations in Chengyin Central Heating, 17 heat exchange stations in Babaiqian Central Heating, 9 heat exchange stations in Honggang Central Heating, Yinlang Coal-fired Boiler Room, Babaiqian Coal-fired Boiler Room, Honggang Coal-fired Boiler Room, Chengfeng Gas-fired Boiler Room, and 25 heat exchange stations and 64 sewage treatment plants under its jurisdiction. With the continuous expansion of the centralized heating scale, the centralized operation and management system of the heating network is developing towards large-scale and standardized development. The original heating network monitoring system can no longer meet the needs. The system requires centralized collection, control, and management of remote data from heat sources, heating networks, and heating stations to achieve economical operation scheduling during the heating process, improve heating reliability, and reduce pollutant emissions. The operation of the SCADA system is of great significance for controlling product quality and improving production efficiency in the heating system.

II. System Design

Figure 1 System Architecture Diagram

The SCADA system consists of a SCADA control center and a communication system. The SCADA system has a two-level structure: the first level is the SCADA control center; the second level is the boiler room station control system and the heat exchange station station control system. The SCADA control center consists of hardware such as 2 real-time/historical data servers, 10 operator stations (1 of which also serves as an engineer station), 1 printer, and network transmission equipment.

(1) SCADA real-time data server

The SCADA real-time data server is responsible for processing, storing, and managing real-time data collected from the field process control DCS system, and providing real-time data to other servers and workstations in the network. Real-time data is stored in a real-time database. Communication management software runs on the real-time data server, handling tasks such as communication links, protocol conversion, and network management for each station's control system.

(2) SCADA historical data server

The historical data server primarily stores and manages historical data, and provides data to other servers and workstations on the network. The server runs standard relational database software, providing open software interfaces and standard physical interfaces. The real-time data server and the historical data server serve as backups for each other.

(3) Operator workstation

The operator workstation is the human-machine interface (HMI) between dispatchers, operators, and the control center's computer monitoring system. It acts as a client within the control center's computer monitoring system. Operators can use it to obtain detailed information about the production and operation status of each boiler room and heat exchange station and issue commands. These workstations are interconnected with the server via LAN and exchange information.

IV. Conclusion

By using ForceControl Technology's SCADA products, the heating network system of the Second Property Management Company was established and improved, enabling data exchange between the host computer client software on the control panel and the SCADA server. Furthermore, the client software enabled access to various types of data, achieving functions such as data display, remote adjustment, time-segmented control, trend curves, historical data, report statistics, alarm monitoring, and report printing.
