Basic Principles of DCS Hardware Design

System cabinet:

1. Arrange the cards in the order of AI, AO, DI, DO, with non-redundant cards first and redundant cards last.

2. Digital input/output cards have a large number of signals and signal lines. If the rack space allows, try to reduce the number of digital input/output cards in a single row.

3. Try to balance the I/O cards connected to link1 and link2.

4. Although the backup battery of the controller can power two pairs of controllers, it is best to design one battery per pair (the cabinets between two controllers are generally not combined).

Distribution cabinet:

1. The selection of circuit breakers should be based on the actual power load calculation, and generally one level higher.

2. The circuit breakers for UPS and GPS should have a certain margin.

3. The 220V power supply required by the field instruments is directly drawn from the distribution cabinet and equipped with a fuse power supply terminal.

4. When the incoming line is 380V, try to balance the three-phase load when the power supply is divided into three 220V circuits.

Network cabinet:

1. Network equipment can be installed using rack mounting or tray mounting methods.

2. When configuring sockets in the network cabinet, the quantity and plug specifications of network equipment and auxiliary equipment (such as photoelectric converters) should be considered.

3. The cabinet's fan and lighting are equipped with a separate circuit breaker.

Auxiliary cabinet:

1. Safety barriers, relays, and terminals are installed in different cabinets.

2. The installation sequence inside the auxiliary cabinet is consistent with the sequence of the system cabinet components.

3. Auxiliary cabinets for different controllers should not be shared as much as possible.

4. The cabinet's fan and lighting do not use UPS.

5. If third-party equipment is installed in the DCS auxiliary cabinet, space, power supply voltage and load should be considered.
