Abstract : High-speed machining is a high-tech field that has brought about the second revolutionary leap in manufacturing technology after CNC technology. It not only boasts extremely high production efficiency but also significantly improves the machining accuracy and surface quality of parts. After briefly analyzing the development of high-speed machining, this paper discusses two key technologies in ultra-high-speed machining—high-speed electric spindles and linear motor high-speed feed units—and introduces the application and development trends of high-speed machining technology. Keywords: High-speed machining; CNC machine tools; Machining centers; Electric spindles; Linear motors 1 Development of High-Speed Machining Technology With the development of CNC machine tools, machining centers, and flexible manufacturing systems, and their widespread application in industry, the "auxiliary time" in machining mechanical parts has been greatly shortened, the continuity of the production process has been unprecedentedly improved, and the technological possibilities and machining accuracy of machine tools have reached unprecedented heights. However, relying solely on flexible automation to compress "auxiliary time" is far from sufficient; low-speed CNC technology is by no means advanced manufacturing technology. To further improve the production efficiency of machine tools, it is necessary to greatly increase the cutting speed and feed rate of parts machining in order to significantly reduce the "cutting time" of parts machining.
