Abstract : The MICRF005 chip is a high-speed UHF wireless transceiver manufactured by Micrel. It is a single-chip OOK transceiver that can be used for unidirectional and bidirectional wireless connections in long-range low-power wireless devices. The MICRF005 adopts an "antenna input, data output" operating mode, and all RF and IF tuning can be automatically completed within the integrated circuit, thus exhibiting high reliability and extremely low power consumption. This paper introduces the main features, structural principle, and pin functions of the MICRF005, and finally presents its application circuit. This transceiver features a transmit/receive switch and a shutdown mode for duty cycle operation, and can be widely used in unidirectional and bidirectional wireless connections for low-power devices. All IF and demodulated data filtering can be completed internally by the MICRF005 chip without the need for external filtering devices. Its rated filtering bandwidth is 300kHz, while supporting data transmission rates up to 115kbps. The main features of the MICRF005 transceiver are as follows: ● Bandwidth: 800–1000MHz; ● Transmission rate: up to 115kbps; ● No external filtering device or inductor required; ● Low power supply current as low as 10mA, frequency: 868MHz; ● Duty cycle adjustable in shutdown mode (greater than 1/10); ● Extremely low RF antenna radiation; ● Built-in CMOS logic interface for use with standard integrated circuits; ● Few external components required; ● Standby mode with transmit/receive capabilities for bidirectional connection control.
